ZINC, a very interesting Story
Zinc, a metal with an unusual story.
We all know that zinc is metal.
You might think that what is special in this metal.
Do you know that zinc is found naturally in an ore form and is a very interesting metal?
Have you ever seen a zinc distillery? .It's a very complicated machine. The photo shows the modern zinc distillery. I know that it's very complicated to understand.
Let me tell you the concept of zinc distillery in a very simple way, but let me tell the origin of the zinc distillery. Officially, first zinc distillery was made in Great Britain by William Champion (1709-1789). But the first zinc distillery was made in India in 4000 years ago (approx). The more interesting thing was that India held the soul and the knowledge of how to remove zinc from zinc ore. The zinc is a metal which melts at 997-degree Celcius and vaporises and becomes gas at 1000 degree celsius, so we get a 3-degree Celcius window to pull out zinc from zinc ore, and it is incredibly difficult. In the normal distillery, the metal gets the heat from the bottom of the distillery and whatever remains is the pure form of the metal but in this case, the zinc would always vapourize and nothing would remain. Hence the Indians made a new distillery in which the metal would get heat from above and when the metal melts, the liquid form of metal will go down from a net-like structure and fall on the ice which is kept under the distillery. And this is how the first zinc distillery was found out and over 2000 years it was kept as a secret in India. During that time if anyone in the world wanted zinc, they had to come to India. Then a Chinese stole it and then, the first zinc distillery was made in Great Britain.
This is a great store behind the invention of 'zinc distillery'.
